I am Kelli Fitzpatrick. I have a loving, 22-year-old daughter who graduated from Auburn University Honor’s College, and is now pursuing a Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) at Samford’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy. I also have a darling, eight-year-old, great niece who I fondly call my own.
I believe each child is a unique individual, who needs a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment to develop cognitively, emotionally, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to effectively educate all students according to their individual needs and learning style. I hope to inspire learning with creativity, enthusiasm, and motivation to help students mature to their fullest potential.
I was afforded the opportunity to work with children with multiple disabilities at the Children’s Center of Montgomery. The teachers, students, and parents there had a great impact on my life. They helped me to realize not only the value of learning, but my abilities, and the importance of sharing what I know with anyone who can possibly learn from me. Working as a special education aide and paraprofessional for over fifteen years inspired me to seek a teaching degree and certification. I received an Associate’s Degree in Early Care and Education from Trenholm State Technical College and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Faulkner University. I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Special Education at Auburn University Montgomery. Once I graduated from Faulkner, I was hired as a long term substitute at Dozier Elementary to teach a 4th grade self-contained class. I believed I was living a dream, until I began teaching kindergarten at Thelma Smiley Morris. I absolutely love my job! Kindergarten is the best! I love that I enjoy going to work. I get to teach and impart valuable lessons into the lives of young children who are seeking knowledge.
